This morning we slept in till' 9 AM. In the old days we wouldn't even go to bed until that time, and today we feel we got that extra snore in. Life is wonderful, but it's because we work so hard to keep it that way, it isn't always easy.
Our dear friend Toni is going through a hard time with her sobriety, and asked to get the word out that she needs the help. Rob is looking to get her into Betty Ford treatment center after a suicide attempt. Our other dear friend Margo has a niece in the hospital from the same thing. Her niece is not as lucky as Toni so far, and is in critical condition. The problem starts in our mind, and grows from there. If we don't stop and check our thoughts in with someone wiser than us, it can spiral out of control into something deadly. Most of the time our own "self thinking" is wrong, and our "bright ideas" are not so bright. It takes a village to get it right sometimes. Sure, we can manifest our own destiny. But having others help us guide the way is important for our survival. Looking to the Alpha dog's in our pack for guidance will keep us safe. Sylvia Plath had her pack, but chose to ignore them and struggled with her own destiny.
We worry about our Allie when she is so far away in Oklahoma. She is the light of our world, and she is missed beyond measure. It is with alot of prayer that we trudge through the times we are apart. Brian has been spending time at our house again lately, and he has been on his best behavior and not causing as much stress as he used to. I hope he gets a job soon so he can buy me a big juicy bone. I'm tired of eating my own poop, and a bone would be nice. The sun is shining here in California and there are wonderful things all around. We just have to look extra hard sometimes.
People matter, dogs matter, animals matter, and life matters.
