True Beauty

Rita Rudner said "I wonder if other dogs think poodles are members of a weird religious cult." In Hollywood women are trying to look younger, lips plumper, breasts higher, and skin tighter. After nipping and tucking, everyone starts looking the same. There was a famous photograph of a woman in the Great Depression that is the same age as Amber. Her lines and wrinkles tell the story of her hardships at such a young age. Amber loves the photograph and it reminds her of true beauty. Women are extraordinary creatures, and can be quite strong when they need to be. This photograph speaks a thousand words, and is a true work of art.

Amber stayed home from work today because she wasn't feeling very well. It should pass quickly if she shoots the vitamin C, and takes care of herself. She is worried about her roomate, Annmarie, and we are all hoping that Annmarie knows how loved she is in her grieving period from BIlls death. Being sick in body is so much better than being sick in the mind. It takes courage and strength to overcome obstacles, and see things as clearly as a dog could.

True beauty is being a friend, a cuddler, a loving force. It is an inside job. It isn't measured in what someone appears to be, but how they act instead. If Amber had to choose to be a woman of soft inner beauty or outside firecracker, she would choose the inner strength of feminine spirit. Perhaps she can have both in this town where all is available, but no one is beautiful if they are ugly inside. Wuff.
