"We are on the planet to be and express the Divine Love of God that is alive in every fiber of our being, waiting to be released through us onto our world. Living as love is a way of life that brings heaven on earth."
Michael Bernard Beckwith, Founder and Spiritual Director
Today I woke up and looked at the clock. It was early...and Amber and I really didn't want to get out of our warm bed. But we remembered that this is not a dress rehearsal, that this is our life. So I went outside and although I always stay close I lifted my nose to the air and sneezed. Doggies have a special innate instinct that something new is coming.
The new crisp wind in the morning reminds Amber of childhoods where she lived in cooler places with snow, like Montana and Utah. Places where sledding and ice skating were a daily activity and doing those things with her sisters Aimee and Celeste were so much fun. Amber used to lay and make snow angels in front of the Logan Utah temple and dream of being a princess inside. Amber used to speed skate bakwards fast and loved the outdoors. Laura and Andrea Lithgow were a large part of Ambers life growing up and the group of girls were always doing something. Racing to the mailbox in the snow barefoot is something Amber always did well, but Laura could stand in the snow barefoot longer. Those silly little things we did are fun memories today. Life can take on new meaning when you live for those small magic moments. To watch people recover from the pains of their past by helping them see how special they really are is miraculous. This is an experience Amber does not want to miss, but the guilt and sadness with Amys death still lingers and holds a very special spot within Amber.
Life is about love, and service and building magic moments--even when there is nothing to do but stand barefoot in the snow and laugh. And even though this doggie smiles with a bottom lip up full of funny looking teeth, life is beginning again...now
